Is God tender and loving or severe and harsh? The answer, simply, is that He is both. To the penitent sinner He is tender and merciful and caring, but to the unrighteous and unrepentant, He is vengeful and severe. God shows mercy to His people who seek Him, but reserves wrath for those who disobey Him and disregard His warnings to repent.
