One of Jesus’ last statements that He made on the cross was, “I thirst!” What made Him thirsty? Of course, there is the obvious reality of the present situation, that in His emaciated and weakened state He was severely dehydrated. However, this is not the first time in the New Testament account that we find Him thirsty. What they offered Him that day on the cross did not quench His thirst, but there is something that will.
