Here is some lighthearted trivia courtesy of the 150th Anniversary committee.
Q1: The doors of First Baptist Church were once chained so that we could not worship inside Do you know what year this occurred and what caused the doors to be chained?
Q2: At one time there were two First Baptist Church Sunday Schools operating at the same time. Do you know where the second Sunday School was held?
A1: On Sunday July 11, as people began to arrive for Sunday School, it was discovered that the Christian Education Building had been vandalized. The doors were chained until an investigation could be made. Sgt. Morley Sharrow, a member of First Baptist Church, was a lead investigator in the case.
A2: During the early 1970’s there were so many attending Sunday School that a second Sunday School was started at A.A.Wright school. During this time a bus service was operated for Sunday School Students.
