During the Great Depression many households got used to the practice of “thinning the soup” in order to make food go further. That may have worked in the Great Depression but it sure doesn’t work with God’s Word in our day and age. In fact, we need to be ever more vigilant to see the truths of Scripture carried out without compromise. Jesus addressed this very issue in the Sermon on the Mount.
